Materials on ecological, power, industrial safety, methodical and legal documents; safety rules; orders and instructions of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor); an interviews, reports on current scientific and production problems are published in the journal.

The purpose is to inform the leaders and specialists of the organizations performing activities in the field of industrial, environmental and power safety of production objects;

territorial bodies of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor) and the public about the status and the causes of accident rate and an injury rate in various industries, about the current activities of supervisory authorities.

Reader's audience of the journal — research associates, leaders and specialists of the enterprises and organizations of various industries and supervisory authorities.

The journal is included in the List of the leading reviewed scientific journals and editions in which the main scientific results of theses on a competition of academic degrees of the candidate and doctor of science formed by Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation shall be published.
